Which ShowCase Product Do I
Need?
Trillium provides two levels of ShowCase viewers to help customers with limited budgets find an image viewer
that meets their needs at the lowest possible price. Both viewers can be
purchased with or without the "Connect" option that
supports transferring studies from
imaging equipment or PACS servers to
your PC.
1-- I
just want a good basic viewer for looking at my DICOM images stored on CDs, DVDs
or MODs or exported from a PACS.
ShowCase Basic
should meet your needs and is the lowest priced viewer. It
has all viewing capabilities and can de-identify and save studies, print to
desktop printers, export in AVI, BMP, TIFF and JPG formats.
2-- I want to push studies
from my ultrasound machine to a disk on a lab computer to avoid sneaker-netting
with CDs and MODs.
The Connect option added to either ShowCase viewer includes a DICOM SCP that
accepts images from a DICOM device and stores them to the disk on a PC.
3-- I need to export studies
to CDs and include a viewer on the CD so that the referring physicians don't
need special software to see the studies.
ShowCase Premier includes integrated CD
burning and allows you to include a viewer on the CD or DVD by just checking a box.
4-- I need an electronic clinical report
solution.
ShowCase now integrates with the EncaptureMD
web based reporting system by Flexible Informatics, LLC.

EncaptureMD solution might fit your needs,

5-- I need imaging tools
that can help me with case presentations and teaching.
ShowCase Basic
includes features such as annotation and image
de-identification / paint outs, and also includes PowerPoint integration features.
A single button click puts your images onto Powerpoint slides, either in
standard export formats or in native DICOM. A ShowCase ActiveX control can
play DICOM clips directly on Powerpoint slides. You have all of the ShowCase
image editing tools right in your presentation.
6-- I want to
de-identify images for a research study.
ShowCase Basic meets your needs. It
can erase image areas and also save images with all identifying information
removed from the image header in the file.
If you want the convenience of bringing studies to
your desktop with query/retrieve, add the Connect option to save you time in
transferring studies.
Need to send the studies on a CD to a research
center? Move up to ShowCase Premier to write CDs and include an onboard viewer on the CD.
7-- I want to pull studies
from my PACS server to my home or office computer or a laptop when I travel.
The Connect option on either viewer supports DICOM Query/Retrieve
messaging that transfers images from a DICOM server to your PC. (To transfer
images to your home or traveling laptop, you will also want to set up a VPN.)
8--
Why would I want a "portable" flash
drive license?
The portable
flash license is the right choice
for physicians who read studies in
multiple locations or IT support
people who frequently swap machines
in and out. You can install ShowCase in several offices and
carry the license along with you to
activate the software when you need
it. (The software will not run when
the flash license is not present)
Portable flash licenses are NOT good
for people who lose things easily--
they are expensive to replace!
If you never know where your car
keys are... this is not the right
choice for you.
