Problem:
Various problems with LICENSE ACTIVATION
or an active license that suddenly says
it has expired (ShowCase 5.0 and later)
Please download and
install ShowCase release 5.1.8 or later.
The 5.1.6 and 5.1.8 releases (April 28, 2010
and August 13, 2010)
includes new software from our licensing
provider that are intended fix these sporadic
licensing issues. We
apologize for any inconvenience this has
caused.
Problem:
REMOTE ACCESS - ShowCase license
says it has expired.
Please upgrade to the 5.1.5 or higher
ShowCase software. Earlier releases of
ShowCase had occasional problems with
licensing and remote access. All known
remote access problems have been addressed as of the
5.1.5 release (Feb, 2010)
Problem: No
Internet Access to Activate my
license, or firewall won't let me
through. (Does not apply to Flash
Licenses on USB drives)
If you cannot access the Internet
from your PC, you will need to activate
the
license manually. Email Your Machine ID
and your License Number to
Support@TrilTech.com or fax the
information to the fax number provided
in your customer letter. (To display the
Machine ID, start ShowCase and select
the File Menu option License Management.
When you receive your unlock code from
Trillium Technology, select the File
Menu, License Information option again
and enter the unlock code.
Related Problem: No Machine ID shown in
licensing dialog (see above)
If you are trying to activate
manually and don't see a Machine ID then
you probably just need to reboot your
machine before proceeding. (You may have
missed a reboot instruction during
installation.) This usually fixes the
problem. If it does not, you might want
to un-install and re-install. Also, see
the earlier warning about remote
activation.
Problem: Message
says you need to have administrator
privileges running on a Vista or Win 7/8
machine.
You can
start ShowCase in Administrator mode by
right-clicking on the ShowCase icon on
your Windows desktop and then selecting
'Run as administrator'.
Problem: The
Activate License Button is Disabled
Check to make sure all of the license information has been
Auto-filled correctly. If typed
manually, check that all information was
entered exactly as
provided-- including capitalization and
punctuation.
Not a Problem: Unlock Code box is empty.
The unlock code is only needed for
manual license activation. (See above)
Problem: I am running
a ShowCase
release 5.0.1 or 5.0.0 installer and I
get a Error 1609 when when I try
to run the installer.
.
Solution: This is an error that was
occurring on non-English machines and
prevented successful installation.
Please download the latest ShowCase
installer that now has a fix for this
problem (release 5.0.2 or
later,downloaded December 14, 2008 or
after).
