ShowCase Image Management for Small
Clinics
ShowCase can manage
medical images for smaller clinics and ultrasound
labs who do not need a complex
and expensive PACS or for larger sites needing an interim
digital solution while they are waiting
to move to a PACS.
The typical product configuration at
such a site is at least one
high end computer that runs ShowCase
with the Connect option (either ShowCase
Premier or ShowCase Basic) and serves as
the image repository . This machine
receives studies sent over a DICOM
network from ultrasound machines.
ShowCase Connect stores the images to a
designated location on a local disk
drive.
ShowCase Premier or
ShowCase Connect installed on other PCs
on the office network can display the
images in this folder over the network,
allowing physicians in other offices
access to the images.
Since ShowCase is a low cost product
without a central database for archive
tracking, sites using ShowCase for image
management should develop a sound image
management workflow that includes an
appropriate archive policy.
Need digital reporting as well?
ShowCase does not include a reporting
package but work well with third party
reporting solutions:
