Installing ShowCase

 

You may want to download the Instructions for Installation and Licensing

 

 

Installer gives a message that says the .NET Framework needs to be installed

 

Solution: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 must be installed on your Windows PC before ShowCase 5.3 can run.  The .NET Framework 2.0 is included with Windows Vista and Windows 7 but not with Windows 2000, some types of Win XP or Windows 8 systems.

Here are 2 ways to add the .NET framework to your PC:
1- Run Windows Update (Start Menu->All Programs->Windows Update), press the "Custom" button on the Welcome page, and select only the .NET Framework 2.0 under Software, Optional. Then download and install .NET Framework 2.0.

OR 2- For Windows 8 or if you are unable to install .NET Framework 2.0 using Windows Update or it fails for any reason.  Download the .NET Framework 2.0 installer -- if you are running the English language version of Windows XP (with Service Pack 2 or higher), or Windows Server 2003 or Windows 8 go to

 

A downloaded installer fails with various unhelpful Windows error messages

 

Usually an installation failure means that the installer file is damaged or wasn't completely downloaded. Try to download the installer again and check the file size to make sure the download was complete.

 

 

 

Old ShowCase release 5.0.1 or 5.0.0 installer causes an Error 1609 .

Solution: This is an error that was occurring on non-English machines and prevented successful installation. Please download the latest ShowCase installer that now has a fix for this problem (release 5.0.2 or later,downloaded December 14, 2008 or after).
